This documentary
chronicles the successes of an innovative USAID development assistance
program – the Livelihood Enhancement and Peace (LEAP) program
– and its impact on the lives of former members of an Islamic
rebel group in the Philippines, the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF).
The film profiles the difficult transition that four former MNLF rebels
made to peaceful civilian lives, after more than two decades of fighting
in the Southern Philippines.
Through the compelling stories, of these former MNLF combatants, viewers
witness a striking illustration of the success that the LEAP development
assistance program has had, not only in transforming the individual
lives of its participants, but also in contributing to the overall peace
and economic development in the Mindanao region of the Philippines.
