Aircraft Carrier USS George Washington Arrives for Four-day Goodwill Visit

The Ambassador and senior Philippine military officials met the aircraft carrier as it neared Manila Bay August 10 for a four-day goodwill visit that will highlight the strong historic, community, and military relations between the U.S. and the Philippines. The ship’s crew will participate in community service projects in Metro Manila, including construction of new school libraries, repainting of school buildings, outreach on tuberculosis and flu prevention, and tree planting.
