In interviews during breaks at clinics that he and fellow coaches Fizdale and Wicks held in Zamboanga and Metro Manila on July 28-August 1, Filipino-American Spoelstra expressed good feelings on visiting the country of his birth, which he left when he was three years old, and the warm welcome he and his companions received. He and fellow Sports Envoys also lauded the young Filipino clinic participants for their enthusiasm, focus, and courtesy.
