(BALIKATAN) Philippine Air Force, U.S. Navy Train At Sea: SUBIC BAY, Republic of the Philippines - Sailors assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Essex chain down a Philippine Air Force MD-520 helicopter during a deck-landing qualification exercise on April 23. The drill was part of Exercise Balikatan 2009, an annual bilateral event involving the Philippine and U.S. armed forces, as well as Philippine civil defense agencies.
