In a tour of the Ambassador’s official residence in Baguio City on December 30, members of the media in Baguio City and Northern Luzon look at photos of the surrender of the Japanese Imperial Army’s General Yamashita to the Allied Forces on September 3, 1945 ending the war in the Philippines. The Japanese General signed the documents of surrender in Baguio City in the very room pictured above. Ambassador Kenney spent the post-December 25 holidays at the residence with friends, and hosted a holiday party for the government officials, civic leaders, and journalists.
