Ballot boxes to hold and small U.S. flags help create election atmosphere in a classroom in Central Philippine University in Iloilo during a mock U.S. presidential election that senior high school students conducted on October 24. The activity was part of the U.S. Embassy’s effort to help Filipinos better understand the American election process. A backgrounder on the U.S. election process, biographies of leading U.S. presidential and vice presidential candidates, sample ballots, as well as a suggested lesson plan on the U.S. election process were furnished participating high school classes in Xavier University and Oro Christian Grace School in Cagayan de Oro, Notre Dame of Cotabato, Central Philippine University in Iloilo, Ateneo de Davao and Ateneo de Zamboanga University.
