U.S. Ambassador Kristie Kenney along with the proud owner of a new house in Batangay Sta. Eulalia in Baao, Camarines Sur cut the ribbon during a turn-over ceremony October 24. Ambassador Kenney officially turned over 207 new houses and a community center to victims of Typhoon Reming in 2006. On the same day, the Ambassador turned over an additional 700 new houses and two community centers in Barangay Tagaytay in Camalig, Albay. The beneficiary families were also given educational materials on disaster preparedness. The houses and community centers were constructed as part of the $5 million grant from the U.S. Government through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and its partners, International Organization for Migration and Save the Children.
