Rev. Father Archimedes A. Lachica, Jr., S.J. (extreme left) and Anthony Taberna (second from right) receive their awards for the 2008 Benigno S. Aquino, Jr. Fellowships for Professional Development alongside U.S. Ambassador Kristie Kenney (extreme right) and former President Cory Aquino (second from left). Now in its 19th year, the fellowships are given by the U.S. State Department to two Filipinos who show courage and a commitment to truth in journalism and public service, in memory of the late Ninoy Aquino. The awardees will participate in a study tour of the U.S. to meet professionals in their fields and learn about U.S. institutions and culture.
