BALIKATAN 2008 VETERINARY CLINIC IN LANAO DEL SUR. Judy Naga Lastimosa of the Cultural Affairs Office, Mindanao State University, provides translation services for and assists Sgt. Matthew Jepson, a U.S. military veterinary technician, as he treats a rooster at Ragayan Central Elementary School, Poona-Bayabao during a free veterinary clinic held Feb. 27 as part of the humanitarian assistance programs of the 24th annual Balikatan activity.  True to the meaning of the word balikatan, Armed Forces of the Philippines and U.S. military veterinary providers are shouldering the load together to help the greatest possible number of people in need.
