On August 24, Representative Silvestre Reyes (D-Texas) presents an American flag to House Speaker Jose De Venecia for his hospitality during the bipartisan U.S. Congressional delegation visit to the Philippines. Other members of the delegation are Rep. Rodney P. Frelinghuysen (R-New Jersey), Rep. Heather Wilson (R-New Mexico), Rep. Gregory W. Meeks (D-New York), and Rep. C. A. "Dutch" Ruppersberger (D-Maryland.) The U.S. Congressional delegation met with Philippine congressional counterparts, laid a wreath at the American cemetery at Fort Bonifacio, and visited U.S. troops participating in joint exercises with the Philippine military in Zamboanga.
