Chargé d’Affaires Paul W. Jones Meets Pampanga Journalists, Discusses US Economic and Other Ties in Central Luzon

Chargé d’Affaires Paul W. Jones answers questions from “Talakayan sa RW” radio talk show host Perry Pangan during a visit to Pampanga Province on August 16. Mr. Jones visited the DWRW radio station in San Fernando on his way to the groundbreaking ceremony for a $1-billion facility that Texas Instrument Inc. is building at the Clark Special Economic Zone in Pampanga’s Angeles City. In the interview, he discussed growing American business investment in the nearby Clark Special Economic Zone and noted that American businesses are major employers in the province.

To be an expansion of its $1-billion, 2000-worker facility in the Philippines’ Baguio City, the new TI facility at Clark is expected to generate some 3,000 jobs for Filipinos.
Chargé d’Affaires Jones answers questions from Pampanga and Central Luzon journalists during a roundtable discussion on US economic and cultural ties in the province and region in Angeles City on August 16. The chargé noted growing American business investment in Pampanga and Central Luzon, and the friendly historical ties between Americans and Filipinos in Angeles City, the site of Clark Air Base, a former major US air force base in the Pacific.
