U.S. Government Donates $58,000 of Cell Phone Forensics Equipment
to the Philippine National Police

Thanks to an equipment donation from the U.S. Department of State’s Anti-terrorism Assistance Program (ATA), Philippine police officials are now better suited to conduct cell phone forensic investigations.
The items pictured above are only a fraction of the Cyber Lab Equipment donated to the Philippines Public Safety College (PPSC) from the American people through the ATA, which includes 12 desktop computers, 3 laptops, and other specialized incident response equipment and supplies. This donation gives police investigators the tools necessary to effectively carry out their jobs and collect valuable evidence.
The technology donation is worth approximately $58,000 and was presented at a culmination ceremony for the ATA-provided Cell Phone Forensics Course on June 15. Personnel from the PNP, National Bureau of Investigation, and PPSC attended the course, which provided attendees with the necessary skills for responding to a variety of potential cyber incidents.
This most recent grant follows two previous equipment donations made by the ATA in the last few months, which supported police officials in Davao, General Santos City, and Butuan.
