Baguio Partners in Academia, Development, and the Arts Join Ambassador
at U.S. Embassy Residence in Baguio

Ambassador Kristie A. Kenney hosted an evening reception at the U.S. Embassy Residence in Baguio for leaders in the fields of academia, charitable development, and the arts, and alumni of U.S. Department of State-funded exchange programs.

During her trip to central Luzon, Ambassador Kenney visited the Cabanatuan Prison Camp to honor soldiers who gave their lives for freedom and democracy in World War II. She also toured the Aquino Center in Tarlac City, and had lunch with former President Corazon Aquino. She also learned about the mission of the Philippines Transmitting Station in Tinang, Tarlac to broadcast news and information in the Asia-Pacific region.
In Baguio, Ambassador Kenney also hosted a March 9 coffee in honor of International Women’s Day. Prominent women from Baguio political, educational, and nonprofit charitable communities mingled with U.S. Embassy officials to celebrate women’s contributions to society.
