In a February visit to the Cotabato City area and Shariff Kabunsuan Province, U.S. officials turned over a community trading center funded by the American people in Sultan Kudarat. The Bulalo Trading Center has given fish, fruit, and vegetable traders in Sultan Kudarat the opportunity to increase their incomes with a permanent and convenient place to display and sell their produce. Pictured above, U.S. Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission Paul W. Jones (center) and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Director Jon Lindborg (2nd from left) present Sultan Kudarat Municipal Mayor Tucao Mastura (2nd from right) with documents that officially turn over the Bulalo Trading Center to the community. The center is among 815 Barangay Infrastructure Projects being built by USAID throughout the conflict-affected areas of Mindanao.
