Ambassador Kenney Speaks to Cadets at PMA, Receives Key to Baguio City

Vice Mayor Leonardo Yangot, Jr. and Ambassador Kristie A. Kenney sign a grant from the U.S. Agency for International Development to establish 10 workplace health clinics and provide micro-finance access to 50 midwives to initiate or expand their private practices. The grantees are the Baguio Center for Young Adults, Inc., where a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer currently works, and the Jaime V. Ongpin Foundation, Inc.
Ambassador Kristie A. Kenney stops to meet several midwives who will benefit from a program to improve healthcare in Baguio City funded by the American people. The U.S. Agency for International Development is funding programs with two NGOs in Baguio to bring healthcare clinics into the workplace, and to increase midwife clinics in the region.
Several first-class Philippine Military Academy cadets visited the Ambassador's Residence in Baguio City, where they had the opportunity to meet Ambassador Kristie A. Kenney and talk about their classes, education, and future.

Ambassador Kristie A. Kenney hosted several area leaders for dinner at her residence in Baguio City. She visited the city on December 8-9 to tour U.S. programs in the region and give remarks to cadets at the Philippine Military Academy. While there, she was honored to receive the key to the city from Vice Mayor Leonardo Yangot, Jr.
