International Filipino jazz sensation Mon David performs during the November 17 opening night concert of The Philippine-American Jazz Festival with U.S. Embassy diplomat Sara Devlin. Each night of the three-day concert series featured Filipino and American jazz artists highlighting a different genre of jazz music. At each concert, Richie Quirino, author of the book "Pinoy Jazz Traditions," and Collis Davis, Jr., an American filmmaker who worked with Quirino to adapt the book into a documentary, outlined the history of the musical styles, how they developed in the United States, and how they were adapted creatively by Philippine musicians.
