Bilateral Military Exercises Reunite Families, Demonstrate Friendship

A Filipino-American military seaman who is visiting the Philippines for bilateral exercises hugs his grandparents after reuniting with them for the first time in seven years. "I can't tell you how happy I am to visit my family," he said. "This is a big deal to me because the Philippines is my home country and I love this place." The U.S. Military and the Armed Forces of the Philippines are conducting joint exercises throughout the country in October.
One of five Ford F350 ambulances is driven into the well-deck of the USS Harpers Ferry in Subic Bay on October 18. The ambulances, donated through the 3P (Promotion of Peace and Prosperity in the Philippines) USA Foundation, are being send to the southern Philippines aboard the ship. The ambulances are destined for Zamboanga, Jolo, and Tawi Tawi.
Students from Macapagal Village Elementary School in Pampanga excitedly watch themselves on the viewing screen of a video camera that U.S. Marines and sailors brought to the school during a recent visit to donate supplies for the school's annual Christmas party. They also worked with the Philippine Air Force to donate school and recreational supplies to the school.
A U.S. Marine Captain meets with 1st grade students and teachers at the San Juan Elementary School in Barangay San Juan, San Antonio, Zambales. The school is hosting a medical/dental civic action project and receiving donations from the U.S. Marines who are in the Philippines for annual bilateral training exercises.
