Annual Training Brings U.S., Philippine Militaries Added Expertise

U.S. Marines and sailors from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit here for annual bilateral training practice a long-range helicopter-borne raid at Basa Air Base on October 15. The raid was executed with the assistance from members of the Philippine Air Force as part of bilateral training exercises Talon Vision and Amphibious Landing Exercise (PHIBLEX) FY 2007. The annual exercises are designed to enhance interoperability and professional relations between the Armed Forces of the U.S. and Philippines.

Bonifacio Naval Station in Manila and officially kicked off the two-week exercises.

A Philippine airman with the 710th Special Operations Wing performs a static line jump out of the back of a KC-130 Hercules aircraft on October 19. The training was conducted as part of bilateral exercises Talon Vision and Amphibious Landing Exercise (PHIBLEX) FY 2007. The exercises are designed to improve the interoperability of the two forces while furthering their professional relationship.
