"A Fantastic Game" Says Ambassador Kenney after Giving Championship Trophy in Men's College Basketball

Ambassador Kristie A. Kenney (second from right) was honored to award the national college basketball championship trophy to the University of Santo Tomas "Growling Tigers" after the men's team beat Ateneo de Manila University in a three-game series. Ambassador Kenney attended the University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP)'s annual men's college basketball championship series with officials from the host school, University of the East, including Dr. Esther Garcia, President (far right) and Lou Santa Ana, 2006 UAAP President.
Fans for both the University of Santo Tomas and Ateneo de Manila University, the two teams battling in the national men's college basketball championship series, cheered loudly and proudly for their teams, while Ambassador Kristie A. Kenney, a life-long basketball fan, cheered for all the players - saying she was excited to watch such talented cagers take the floor.
During Game 2 of the national men's college basketball championship series, Ambassador Kristie A. Kenney gave trophies to the "Mythical Five," the UAAP's top five players of the season, and to the season's MVP Kenneth Bono (left), who plays center for Adamson University's team.
Ambasador Kenney (front, bottom row) and friends from the U.S. Embassy enjoy the fast-paced action of the University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) men's college basketball championship series in Manila. Ambassador Kenney took part in the awards ceremonies for the MVPs and championship game.
