U.S. Ambassador Highlights Employment Opportunities, American Investment During Visit to Call Centers

During a tour of American firms with call center or business outsourcing facilities in Makati, Ambassador Kristie A. Kenney looks over the shoulder of a trainee at Dell International Services Philippines, Inc. The Dell office in Makati is a training and recruitment facility for its call center operations; trainees will then begin working at Dell offices in the country. The Ambassador visited the ICT Group, Dell International Services-Philippines, and Chevron Holdings' Manila Shared Services Center, which all have offices in the Philippines that collectively employ hundreds of Filipino citizens.

The U.S. Government supports business partnerships between American and Filipino firms through myriad programs, including the work of the U.S. Commercial Services.
During a tour of Chevron Holdings' Manila Shared Services Center in Makati, employee Eggie Gonzales briefs Ambassador Kenney about the North America Invoice Processing Rush Team's work in finance and accounting, and points out an inspirational bulletin board with messages and news for employees. Ambassador Kenney visited the firm during a tour of three American firms with call center or business outsourcing facilities in Makati.
