U.S., Philippines sign $20-million PL 480 commodity loan agreement

Teves shake hands after signing a $20-million commodity loan
agreement on August 10 in Manila. Provided under the U.S.
PL 480 Title I program, the loan will finance the importation
of high quality rice from the United States. The Philippine
government will use the proceeds from the local sale of the
rice will to help fund the country’s development programs.
