Manila Science High students tour visiting U.S. military’s experimental high-speed transport vessel

High Speed Vessel-X1 (HSV-X1)

Students of Manila Science High School walk beside the 313 foot-long High Speed Vessel-X1 (HSV-X1) docked at Manila Bay’s Pier 13. In a visit aboard the high-speed catamaran on July 14, the students were briefed on the ship’s capability and modern facilities for transporting personnel and equipment and its capabilities to support humanitarian missions.

Crewmembers show to the students the inflatable boat and jet skis that can be rapidly deployed from the HSV-X1. The ship is visiting various ports in the Pacific, including the Philippines.
