Deputy State Secretary Zoellick visits Manila,
meets President Arroyo and Cabinet

 

President Arroyo welcomes U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Robert Zoellick in Malacanang Palace on May 5, during the Manila leg of his official trip to six ASEAN capitals.

Answering a question during a press conference in the Malacanang Palace, Deputy Secretary Zoellick stresses the importance of integrating (right) military, economic and political approaches in fighting global terrorism, as well as in seeking peace in Mindanao. “That;s what we’re trying to do here, and I know that’s been the strategy of the Government of the Philippines,” he said.
