Chargé Mussomeli

The fall of Bataan to the Japanese Imperial Army was “one of the worst military defeats in our collective history,” Chargé Mussomeli said in his remarks. “But …maybe that defeat…was essential to our final victory. …And perhaps the courage and sacrifice of those Americans and Filipinos on Bataan proved a profound inspiration to their colleagues as they struggled in the following years to regain our freedom.”
