Ambassador Ricciardone visits Subic and Bataan

 

Ambassador Francis Ricciardone greets members of the Ayta community who joined members of Morong farmers and fisherman communities in welcoming him on his arrival at the Bataan Technology Park, Inc.
The Kanawan tribal council and representatives of Morong farmers and fishermen celebrated the U.S. National Institutes of Health-funded project by the University of the Philippines and the Michigan State University to guide natural product drug discovery in a way that benefits source communities.

A turtle hatchling rests in the Ambassador’s palm during the Ambassador’s visit to the Pawikan Conservation Center, a community-based program supported by joint project of the Michigan State University and University of the Philippines.

The Ambassador and members of his party release turtle hatchlings into the ocean. The turtle conservation program has greatly enhanced the viability of the marine animals.
