U.S. Government Boost for Typhoon Pablo Response
Davao City, January 18, 2013--The United States Government, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), has allocated an additional PhP164 million (US$4 million) to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to further boost the Philippine Government’s Typhoon Pablo (international name Bopha) response. This brings the total U.S. Government commitment to the Pablo humanitarian response to PhP508.4 million (US$12.4 million). Press Release »

Speaking to 972 cadets as well as faculty and staff at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Academy in Cavite on January 14, Charge d’Affaires Brian L. Goldbeck emphasized the commitment cadets had made to providing safety and security for the people of the Philippines.
