The Nonimmigrant Visa Unit (NIV) is open for business Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except on U.S. and Philippine Holidays and every last business day of the month.
Effective 26 October 2006, ALL Visa Waiver Travelers will be required to have an e-passport to enter the United States under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), if the passport was issued on or after 26 October 2006. An e-passport includes an integrated chip with biographical information from the passport data page. However, valid machine-readable passports that meet the following requirements do not need to be replaced:
A VWP traveler who has a valid machine-readable passport with a digital photo does not need a new e-passport until the existing passport expires, if the digital photo passport was issued before 26 October 2006.
A VWP traveler with a valid machine-readable passport without a digital photo does not need a new e-passport until the existing one expires, if the machine-readable passport was issued before 26 October 2005.
