Where to Pay the Application Fee

Each applicant for a U.S. nonimmigrant visa, except diplomatic (A), official (G), personal employees of A and G visa holders (A-3 and G-5), certain U.S. Government sponsored exchange visitors (J), and certain NAFTA treaty nationals (TN) and treaty dependents (TD) must pay the machine-readable visa application fee.

Effective 01 January 2008, the application fee for a U.S. nonimmigrant visa will increase from $100 to $131.  This increase allows the Department to recover the costs of security and other enhancements to the nonimmigrant visa application process.

Applicants who paid the prior $100 application fee before 01 January 2008 will be processed only if they are scheduled and appear for a visa interview before 31 January 2008.  Applicants who paid the prior $100 application fee and appear for visa interviews after 31 January 2008 must pay the difference -- $31 -- before they will be interviewed.  This additional fee must be paid at a branch of Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) or Citibank which collects visa fees.

This fee can only be paid at any designated branch of Citibank or Bank of the Philippine Islands and must be paid in Philippine currency at the U.S. Government exchange rate prevailing on the day of payment.  The bank will provide a receipt and Form DS-157 where payment is machine-validated.

A fee applies to only one visa classification/application.  If an applicant wishes to apply for more than one visa simultaneously, corresponding payment per visa class must be made.

Machine-readable visa application fees are nonrefundable.  No exceptions will be made to this rule.  The application fee is valid for use for one year after the date of actual payment (wherein the interview schedule must fall within the one-year validity) and is transferable provided the Form DS-157 has not been filled out.

The fee cannot be paid from outside of the Philippines, and cannot be paid at the American Embassy.  Application fee payments are only accepted at designated branches of the Bank of the Philippine Islands and Citibank, Philippines listed below.

The fee can be paid during normal business hours (Mondays to Fridays: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) at any of the designated banks listed below.  The Form DS-157 will be machine-validated by the bank at the back of the form to reflect payment.
