Security Assistance Office

The Security Assistance Office consists of an Army Officer, a Navy Officer, a US Air Force Officer, and one Security Assistance Non-Commissioned Officer as US military staff. Five Foreign Service Nationals, thirteen Philippine civilians, and five Armed Forces of the Philippines military members further supplement the Security Assistance Office.

The Security Assistance Office is responsible for a myriad of activities including:

-Foreign military sales and foreign military financing.

-Analyzes requirements, plans, implements and manages the Security Assistance program for the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

-Advises the Armed Forces of the Philippines in planning, developing and upgrading their military requirements and capabilities.

-Coordinates military actions with the US Embassy, Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, and US Pacific Command.

-Responsible for the Military Assistance Program (MAP) to include monitoring end item usage and excess property reporting.

-Assists the Armed Forces of the Philippines in improving logistics management and self-sufficiency.

-Handles protocol and briefing requirements associated with numerous visit of senior US and Armed Forces of the Philippines officials.

-Direct commercial sales programs under the defense cooperation policy of the US government through coordination with the Republic of the Philippine Armed Forces, the Commander Pacific Command Representative, HQ, Department of the Army, Department of the Navy, US Air Force, US Department of Defense, American Embassy, Philippine and US commercial interests as necessary.
