ties "Stronger and Closer"
Remarks
at Manila Rotary Club by Ambassador Francis Ricciardone (As prepared for
delivery), March 13, 2003

"Relations
between the United States and the Philippines have never been stronger
or closer than they are now," U.S. Ambassador Francis J Ricciardone said
in his remarks before the joint meeting of the Manila Rotary Club and the
Inner Wheel Club of Manila in the Manila Hotel on March 13, 2003.
"Our common interests in providing security, prosperity and services to
our citizens makes the US - Philippine relationship deep and diverse and
our further mutual cooperation in these areas will work to the advantage
of the citizens of both our countries," the Ambassador said.

Ambassador
Ricciardone shows off a Manila Rotary Club (MRC) card identifying him as
an honorary member. The Ambassador noted that MRC, which is now on
its 84th year, is "the oldest Rotary Club in the Philippines, in fact the
oldest in Asia,"
