surrender ceremony now serves as the Ambassador's dining table. An
oil portrait of General Douglas MacArthur hangs above the
fireplace.

The back patio of the residence is the
site of receptions and cultural events.

Above the fireplace in the living room
is the Amorsolo painting commemorating the surrender ceremony. The
painting is said to have remained perfectly centered after the
strong eartquake of 1990. |
