Register with U.S. Embassy

Registration makes your presence and whereabouts known to the United States Embassy in the country where you are either residing or traveling.  This is important in case it is necessary for a consular officer to contact you.  American citizens in the Philippines can register with the Embassy in Manila at https://travelregistration.state.gov/ibrs/ui/.

Registration is particularly important for those who plan to stay in a country longer than one month or who will travel to a country with a history of natural disasters, civil or political unrest, or where communication is difficult outside of major metropolitan areas.

Remember to leave a detailed itinerary and passport information (or other citizenship documents) with a friend or relative in the United States.  This is important should your passport be lost or stolen.  Please be aware that in accordance with the Privacy Act, information on your welfare or whereabouts may not be released to inquirers without your expressed written authorization.

In addition to emergency communication, registration with Embassy Manila puts you on the Warden Email list.  Through Warden Messages we notify American citizens of threats to their safety and security, as well as provide information on upcoming Embassy outreach events.  You will also receive the Quarterly Newsletter that contains articles of interest to U.S. citizens in the Philippines.

If you encounter any difficulties or have any questions about the State Department’s travel registration website please send an e-mail to CAIbrs@state.gov.  If you have specific questions about your registration here in the Philippines please contact the U.S. Embassy at ACSInfoManila@state.gov.
