The Public Affairs Section at the U.S. Embassy maintains a Speakers Bureau of Americans and local staff in the Philippines who are prepared to speak to audiences on a variety of topics. Topics range from the nature of diplomacy, U.S. society and its values, U.S. trade efforts and economic issues, education in the U.S., and visa issues, to name a few.
If interested in obtaining a speaker for a particular event, please be prepared to provide the following information:
- What the event is and its purpose
- Topics you would like the speaker to address
- Who the audience will be, and how large
- Any notable individuals in the audience (VIPs, politicians, media, etc)
- How long you would like the speaker to talk
- If there will be a question and answer session
- If your organization will be able to fund the speaker’s travel
- Any other events the speaker would be invited to attend in addition to the speech
