About the Consular Section

Welcome to the Consular Section!

The Consular Section of the United States Embassy in Manila is one of the largest and busiest consular operations in the world. It provides Immigrant and Non-immigrant Visa Services and American Citizen Services. It is located along Roxas Boulevard next to the Museo Pambata and across the street from the Bayview Hotel.

The Immigrant Visa (IV) Branch is the second largest IV processing post next to the U.S. Consulate in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. It processes over 50,000 IV applications and more than 11,000 fiancé(e) and spouse non-immigrant visa applications each year, reuniting families as intended by U.S. immigration law. To find out more about Immigrant Visas, please click here.

The Non-immigrant Visa (NIV) Branch processes more than 210,000 applications each year. To find out more about Non-immigrant Visas, please click here.

Applications are made by an appointment. There is a U.S. $400 Immigrant Visa application fee and U.S. $131 Non-immigrant Visa application fee.

The American Citizen Services (ACS) Branch serves the American community in the Philippines. Approximately 132,000 U.S. citizens reside in the country. Several hundred thousand Americans visit the Philippines each year for business and pleasure. The ACS Branch issues passports and reports of birth and death for Americans in the Philippines, as well as providing notarial services. ACS also assists U.S. citizens in distress, such as those arrested or destitute. It maintains a list of doctors, dentists and attorneys for reference. Fraud Warning
Committing visa fraud or providing false information on your petition, visa application or to a Consular Officer may result in the revocation of your petition and/or a permanent ineligibility to travel, work or immigrate to the United States.
U.S. Embassy Manila does not endorse or have a "special relationship" with any individual or business that offers advice or assistance with the visa process. No one can guarantee the issuance of a visa to you. Visa eligibility can only be determined at the time of the visa interview. All U.S. government forms are free.
Beware: many visa applicants lose money or are permanently barred from the United States as a result of misleading information and fraudulent applications provided by visa consultants.

If you suspect someone of fraud, we ask you to report it immediately to the U.S. Embassy in Manila. The information you provide to the Embassy will remain confidential and will only be seen by Consular Officers and other U.S. Government employees working on a person’s visa case. In order to facilitate the reporting of fraud, we have created an electronic form that can be submitted directly to the U.S. Embassy in Manila.
