Delays in Overseas U.S. Passport ProcessingDue to a systems issue affecting global passport operations, there is currently a delay in the printing of U.S. passports that were approved at overseas passport facilities. Applications accepted at U.S. Embassies or Consulates on or after May 26, 2015 are affected by this delay. If you applied for a U.S. passport during this time frame and have travel plans within the next 10 business days, please consider requesting an emergency passport at the consulate or embassy at which you originally applied. Welcome to the Passport & Citizenship Unit of the U.S. Embassy Manila. In order to better serve you, we provide most routine passport services only through our online appointment system. The exceptions are some adult passport renewals and all requests for additional visa pages which can be done through the mail. Before booking an online appointment, please carefully read all the instructions for the passport service you need to see if the service requires an online appointment or not. For routine passport renewals, you can expect to receive your passport back in approximately 2-3 weeks after approval.
If you are applying for a passport in Manila, DO NOT follow the submission instructions found on the application form, which are intended for people applying in the United States. Although the same application forms are used whether you are inside or outside the U.S., the process for submitting the forms are different.
Only emergency passports are available on a walk-in basis. Please be aware that the rules for emergency passport issuance are strict, and a consular officer will determine if your situation meets the standard for an emergency. If your situation is not considered an emergency, you will need to book an online appointment, and return to the embassy on that day. Before coming to the embassy, please read all the instructions for the passport service you need. The options are listed below and on the menu to the left.

The U.S. Embassy-contracted courier for American Citizen Services (citizenship and passport services) is Air21. For passport applications not covered by the online appointment, you may submit your documents by mail or you may call Air21 at 879-4747, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, except on holidays. Please read all the instructions for the passport service you need and check carefully if the service requires an online appointment or not.
